Twin and Twin XL Sizes

  For many children, teens, and students, a Single, or Twin bed is affordable and common. This is also the size most favored in dorm rooms due to its narrow width and ease of moving. A normal Twin mattress is 38" wide, or roughly 96.5 centimeters, and 75", or roughly 190 centimeters, long. Some manufacturers use a slightly wider or narrower measurement when designing their beds for various reasons. Most older teens and adults would enjoy the benefits of the Twin XL bed, which is the same width, but 5" longer, for a total of 80" or about 203 cm. Twin and Twin XL mattresses are also used in hospital beds and adjustable beds, since two Twin XL mattresses is overall the same size as a Standard or Eastern King.
